This is a quick interview with Adrian Legge to learn some tidbits about him in a short amount of time.   Adrian has been a blacksmith for over 40 years and in that time he has been involved in work as diverse as the restoration of 17th century gates and railings, the design and making of contemporary garden sculpture and teaching the craft to others from the Hereford College of the Arts in England.

If you like what you hear and want to hear more from Adrian, you can listen to our in depth interview, that will soon be available on the BlacksmitHER.com podcast page.

What Juicy tidbits are they?

·         His most unusual blacksmithing job was making a skull crusher and a chastity belt.

·         Adrian is involved with many blacksmith associations such as the British Artist Blacksmith Association, he is a liveryman at the Worshipful Company of Blacksmiths, and a current chairman of the National Heritage of Ironwork.

·         Adrian says there is a fair amount of wrought iron still available, some of the reclaimed wrought iron is re-rolled which makes it expensive.

·         Does anyone know why the hardy is called the hardy??

His shop has been in existence since the 16th century
